Since I published my abuse story in January on this web site, I have received hate mail from a number of people arguing that the only reason I criticise Israel is because I am angry with my mother... Of course I don't need to be angry with my mother to criticise Israel — Israel is doing enough on its own to justify serious criticism — but that's not what's really interesting about this. What's interesting is the way Zionist fanatics consistently try to silence any criticism of Israel as they are doing in my case. This short article, The Power of Belief and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict offers an analysis of the causes of Zionist fanaticism and the profound survival instinct that motivates it. This piece was first published on The Electronic Intifada on 30th June 2005. (July 2005)
Silence is betrayal is the text of a speech I gave outside the Israeli Embassy in Canberra at a rally to protest against the Australian visit of Israeli President Moshe Katzav on Wednesday 2 March, 2005 12.30pm. An opinion piece in response to a Ha'aretz article by Gideon Levy. I was hoping that this opinion piece would be published by the Canberra Times. It was not printed because the topics of Palestine and the occupation were not high on the agenda. At the time of writing this article, the media was preoccupied with the capture of Sadaam Hussain and the fate of Screedsound Australia. (January 2004)
International Day of Action Against the Wall is the text of a speech I gave at a rally in Garema Place, Canberra, organised by Australians for Justice and Peace in Palestine (AJPP) and supported by the ACT Network Opposing War (ACTNOW), at 12 noon on Sunday 9th November 2003.
